HR 4950 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To direct the Federal Communications Commission to incorporate into the National Broadband Map of the Commission a layer that presents data on the location of agricultural areas, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill directs the Federal Communications Commission to add a new data layer to the National Broadband Map showing the location of agricultural areas within 180 days of enactment. The FCC must consult with the Department of Agriculture, Commerce Department, state representatives, and other relevant stakeholders when making this update. The agricultural data layer would be maintained as part of the ongoing National Broadband Map.
