HR 4831 Passed House Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.

Summary
This bill temporarily reenacts Chapter 12 of the bankruptcy code, which provides bankruptcy protection for family farmers and fishermen. The reenactment is effective from October 1, 1998 through April 1, 1999, restoring provisions that had expired. Chapter 12 allows family farmers and fishermen to reorganize their debts and continue operations under a court-supervised plan rather than liquidating their assets.
