Whistleblower Protection Act of 2025

To clarify that whistleblower protections described in section 4712 of title 41, United States Code, apply to any contract funded from amounts appropriated to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, and for other purposes.

Introduced Jul 23, 2025

Latest action (Dec 17, 2025) Ordered to be Reported (Amended) by the Yeas and Nays: 51 - 0.

Summary

This bill extends whistleblower protections to employees and contractors working on contracts, subcontracts, grants, subgrants, and personal services contracts funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The bill specifies that the whistleblower protections in section 4712 of title 41, United States Code apply to all such HUD-funded agreements, regardless of when the agreements were executed. This means whistleblowers reporting violations on HUD contracts would have the same federal protections available to whistleblowers on other federal government contracts.
