Summary

This bill amends federal veterans benefits law to allow the Department of Veterans Affairs to continue paying monthly educational assistance benefits to veterans during breaks between school terms at educational institutions. Veterans can receive benefits during intervals between terms as long as the interval does not exceed eight weeks and both the preceding and following terms are at least as long as the interval. The educational institution must certify the veteran's enrollment on an individual term basis for benefits to continue during the break. The change applies to benefits payments beginning in the month the bill is enacted and later.
