To amend title 38, United States Code, to limit the amount of time the Secretary of Veterans Affairs may extend the period of a vocational rehabilitation program for a veteran.
Summary
This bill would limit the period for which the Department of Veterans Affairs can extend a veteran's vocational rehabilitation program to ninety-six months (eight years). If the VA Secretary determines that extraordinary circumstances warrant an extension beyond this limit, the Secretary must submit written notice to the Senate and House Committees on Veterans' Affairs explaining the circumstances. The provision adds accountability requirements to the existing vocational rehabilitation program for veterans.
