African Union Diplomatic Parity Act
To extend certain privileges and immunities to the Permanent Observer Mission of the African Union to the United Nations in New York.
Summary
This bill amends the International Organizations Immunities Act to extend diplomatic privileges and immunities to the Permanent Observer Mission of the African Union to the United Nations in New York. The privileges and immunities granted would be the same as those enjoyed by permanent missions to the United Nations of member states and their members, subject to corresponding conditions and obligations. Currently, the law extends such privileges only to the African Union Mission itself, so this bill expands the coverage to the African Union's UN observer mission specifically.
