District of Columbia Zoning Commission Home Rule Act
To revise the composition of the Zoning Commission for the District of Columbia so that the Commission will consist solely of members appointed by the Government of the District of Columbia.
Summary
This bill would revise the composition of the District of Columbia Zoning Commission to consist solely of members appointed by the Government of the District of Columbia, removing federal appointees including the Architect of the Capitol and the Director of the National Park Service. The change would give the DC government exclusive control over appointments to the Zoning Commission and local authority over zoning decisions in the District. The bill includes a conforming amendment regarding applications by foreign missions, specifying that designated federal officials serve on the Board of Zoning Adjustment for foreign mission chancery-related matters instead of Zoning Commission representatives.
