HR 408 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.

To nullify the Presidential memoranda on the withdrawal of certain areas of the outer Continental Shelf from oil or natural gas leasing.
Summary
House Bill 408 nullifies two Presidential Memoranda issued on January 6, 2025, that withdrew certain areas of the U.S. outer continental shelf from oil or natural gas leasing. The first memorandum addressed withdrawals in the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, and Pacific areas, while the second addressed the Northern Bering Sea Climate Resilience Area. By passing this bill, Congress would render these presidential withdrawal orders void and allow those areas to be opened for potential oil and natural gas leasing.
