HR 4059 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To amend MAP-21 to modify provisions relating to a categorical exclusion for projects of limited Federal assistance, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) to increase the thresholds for categorical exclusions for transportation projects that receive limited federal funding. The bill doubles the dollar threshold in subparagraph (A) from $6 million to $12 million and the threshold in subparagraph (B) from $35 million to $70 million. These increased thresholds would allow more transportation projects to qualify for categorical exclusions from certain requirements that would otherwise apply to federally assisted projects.
