To amend title 18, United States Code, to establish a criminal penalty for interfering with commerce by blocking public roads.
Summary
This bill creates a federal crime for blocking public roads or highways with the purpose of obstructing commerce or the movement of goods. The offense carries penalties of up to five years imprisonment, fines, or both. The law would apply to anyone who purposely blocks a road to interfere with commerce, as well as those who attempt or conspire to do so. The bill amends federal interference-with-commerce statutes to add this new road-blocking provision.
