Mr. Steil (for himself, Mr. Bergman, Mr. Bost, Mr. Fitzgerald, Mr. Grothman, and Mr. Van Orden) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

A BILL

To amend title 4, United States Code, to allow for cemetery flags to be displayed in an upright position directly adjacent to the grave sites of deceased members of the Armed Forces or veterans, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “American Flags to Honor Our Veterans Act of 2025”.

SEC. 2. CEMETERY FLAGS.

Section 6 of title 4, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:

“(h) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, the flag may be displayed in a secured, upright position directly adjacent to the grave site of a deceased member of the Armed Forces (as defined in section 101 of title 10) or veteran (as defined in section 101 of title

38).”. <all>
