Summary

This bill amends the Arms Export Control Act to raise the dollar threshold for Congressional notification requirements for certain firearm exports. For firearms controlled under category I of the U.S. Munitions List, the bill increases the threshold from $1 million to $4 million, meaning export licenses below $4 million would no longer require Congressional notification (compared to the current $1 million threshold). The bill applies only to firearms exports and does not change notification requirements for other types of defense articles or arms sales.
