Summary

This bill removes the District of Columbia from the applicability of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993. The RFRA sets standards for federal and local government actions that substantially burden religious exercise. By excluding DC from the law's scope, this bill would allow the District to enact local legislation without being subject to RFRA requirements. As a result, DC laws would be governed by the District's own local rules rather than the federal RFRA standards.
