HR 3837 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To codify Executive Order 14218 (relating to ending taxpayer subsidization of open borders).
Summary
This bill would convert Executive Order 14218 into federal law. The executive order addresses federal spending related to immigration and border policies. By codifying the executive order, the bill would make its provisions permanent statutory law rather than subject to executive reversal. The specific spending restrictions and policy changes contained in the executive order would gain the force of law and require Congressional action to modify or repeal.
