HR 3828 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Combating Deceptive Immigration Enforcement Practices Act of 2025
To amend section 287 of the Immigration and Nationality Act to prohibit immigration officers or agents of the Department of Homeland Security from wearing clothing or other items bearing the word ``police''.
Summary
This bill prohibits immigration officers and agents of the Department of Homeland Security from wearing any clothing, accessories, or other items bearing the word "police" while performing immigration enforcement duties. The restriction applies to officers and agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The change would prevent confusion between federal immigration agents and local police officers.
