It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Don’t Settle for Bribes Act of 2025
To restrict the President from initiating civil lawsuits regarding any civil matters.
Summary
This bill requires courts to pause civil lawsuits involving a sitting President, President-elect, or presidential candidate (within 90 days of the election) until that person's term ends or, for non-elected candidates, until the election results are certified. The stay applies to civil cases involving the President's immediate family members (spouse and children) and any business where the President or family members are listed as grantors or beneficiaries. Statutes of limitations for paused cases are also suspended and resume running after the person leaves office. Executive branch agencies retain their ability to bring or defend civil actions on behalf of the government, and the bill does not restrict the President's access to courts.
