Voluntary School Prayer Protection Act of 2025
To prohibit the provision of Federal funds to any State or local educational agency that denies or prevents participation in constitutionally protected prayer in schools, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill conditions federal Department of Education funding on schools allowing voluntary, constitutionally protected prayer by students. Schools that deny or prevent participation in voluntary prayer would lose federal funding under this measure. The bill clarifies that no student or person can be required to participate in prayer or influence its form or content. The measure applies specifically to voluntary prayer and does not mandate or require school-sponsored prayer. It uses federal funding eligibility as a mechanism to enforce protection of voluntary student prayer in schools.
