HR 3581 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to delay certain disproportionate share hospital payment reductions under the Medicaid program.
Summary
This bill delays certain disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payment reductions under Medicaid that were scheduled to take effect in 2026 through 2028, postponing those reductions to 2029 through 2031 instead. Disproportionate share hospitals are facilities that serve a large share of low-income Medicaid and uninsured patients. The bill extends the timeline by which scheduled Medicaid DSH payment cuts would be implemented, providing additional years before the reductions take effect.
