Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Physicist Pay Cap Relief Act
To amend title 38, United States Code, to codify the requirements for appointment, qualifications, and pay for therapeutic and diagnostic medical physicists of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends Veterans Affairs law to formally codify positions for therapeutic and diagnostic medical physicists at the VA. It establishes qualifications for these positions, requiring post-graduate clinical training and board certification approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The bill creates grade classifications for these medical physicists and integrates them into the VA's pay determination system. It also requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to report to Congress within one year on the effects of pay adjustments for these positions, including impacts on VA-employed physicists and those providing care under agreements with the department.
