Summary

This bill expands federal health center programs to include individuals with developmental disabilities as a special medically underserved population eligible for federally qualified health center services. The bill authorizes grants of $15 million annually for fiscal years 2026 through 2030 to existing health centers to establish new service sites providing comprehensive primary health services and specialized dental care to individuals with developmental disabilities. Health centers receiving these grants must provide specialized treatment and specially trained dental care services in addition to standard primary health services. The bill also includes individuals with developmental disabilities in the definition of populations used to identify health professional shortage areas requiring additional health care providers.
