Medicaid Empowerment Act of 2025
To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to extend renewal periods for certain home and community-based services waivers and State plan amendments under the Medicaid program.
Summary
This bill amends the Medicaid statute to extend the renewal and approval periods for home and community-based services waivers from 5 years to 10 years. The change applies to extensions of certain waivers and state plan amendments that begin after the bill's enactment. This would allow states to operate these waiver programs for longer periods without requiring renewal approvals as frequently.
