HR 3022 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Restoring Rights of Physicians to Own Hospitals Act
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to repeal the Obamacare ban on provider-owned hospitals, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends Medicare law to repeal certain restrictions on physicians owning hospitals. Specifically, it removes requirements that previously limited physician ownership of hospitals under Medicare rules. The bill strikes several provisions from Section 1877 of the Social Security Act that currently govern when physicians can have financial interests in hospitals that refer Medicare patients to them.
