Ms. Malliotakis (for herself, Ms. Titus, Mr. Bilirakis, and Mr. Pappas) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs

A BILL

To eliminate certain limitations and exclusions regarding defense articles and requirements regarding security assistance and sales with respect to the Republic of Cyprus.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. ELIMINATION OF REQUIREMENTS CONCERNING THE REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS.

(a) Elimination of Limitations and Exclusions Regarding Defense Articles.—Section 1250A of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 (22 U.S.C. 2373 note) is amended—

(1) in the heading, by striking “repeal of prohibition on” and inserting “sense of congress regarding”;

(2) in subsection (a), by striking “(a) Sense of Congress.—It is the sense of Congress that—” and inserting the following: “It is the sense of Congress that—”; and

(3) by striking subsections (b), (c), and (d).

(b) Elimination of Requirements Regarding Security Assistance and Certain Sales.—Section 620C of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2373) is amended by striking subsections (d) and (e). <all>
