Summary

This bill amends the Agricultural Act of 2014 to modify the Dairy Margin Coverage program, which provides financial protection to dairy producers when milk prices fall relative to feed costs. The bill changes how production history is calculated by replacing a fixed historical period (2011-2013) with a more recent three-year rolling average, recalculated every five years. The bill also increases the threshold levels that determine premium tier classifications for dairy farmers from 5 million to 6 million units. These changes are intended to make the program more responsive to current farm operations and adjust financial protections accordingly.
