HR 2857 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To codify Executive Order 13989 (relating to ethics commitments by executive branch personnel).
Summary
This bill converts Executive Order 13989 into statutory law. The executive order establishes ethics commitments for executive branch personnel. By codifying the order, the bill makes these ethics requirements binding through legislation rather than through executive action alone.
