HR 2848 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Stop Arctic Ocean Drilling Act of 2025
To prohibit drilling in the Arctic Ocean.
Summary
This bill would prohibit the Secretary of the Interior from issuing or renewing leases or other authorizations for oil, gas, or mineral exploration and production in Arctic areas of the outer continental shelf. The bill defines Arctic areas according to the Arctic Research and Policy Act of 1984. No new or extended leases for energy development would be permitted in these Arctic waters, overriding any conflicting provisions in existing law.
