HR 2632 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To amend title 10, United States Code, to improve the administration of the TRICARE program in Puerto Rico, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends federal law to expand TRICARE military health coverage to residents of Puerto Rico on equal terms with the continental United States. It requires the Department of Defense to designate geographical areas in Puerto Rico for TRICARE Prime coverage using the same criteria applied to the states, and to provide travel and transportation benefits to Puerto Rico residents who would otherwise be eligible. The bill directs the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization Office to coordinate with Puerto Rico's Department of Health to share health information through existing health information exchange systems. The Secretary of Defense must report to Congress within 180 days on implementation progress.
