HR 2630 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Youth Suicide Prevention Research Act
To amend the Advancing Research to Prevent Suicide Act to expand the areas of focus regarding childhood suicide, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends the Advancing Research to Prevent Suicide Act to expand the National Science Foundation's research priorities on childhood suicide. It adds two new focus areas for federally funded research: understanding the role of adverse childhood experiences in childhood suicide, and understanding the role of toxic stress in childhood. The amendment inserts these two new research priorities into the existing law's list of areas the NSF should support.
