Increased Accountability for Nonconsensual Pornography Act of 2025
To amend the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022 with respect to a civil action relating to the disclosure of intimate images.
Summary
This bill amends the law on civil actions for nonconsensual pornography to increase the statutory damages available to individuals whose intimate images are shared without consent. The maximum amount of damages a person can recover in such a lawsuit is increased from $150,000 to $500,000. The bill also makes clarifying revisions to the definition of what conduct violates the law, specifying that it covers the nonconsensual disclosure of intimate images of identifiable individuals engaging in sexually explicit conduct. These changes apply to civil actions brought under Section 1309 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022.
