Summary

This bill authorizes the President to extend normal trade relations (nondiscriminatory treatment) to products of Uzbekistan by determining that Title IV of the Trade Act of 1974 should no longer apply to that country. Title IV contains restrictions on trade with certain nations; removing it would eliminate those restrictions on Uzbek products. The extension would take effect once the President certifies to Congress that Uzbekistan has acceded to and joined the World Trade Organization. The bill effectively removes U.S. trade barriers on Uzbekistan once that WTO membership condition is met.
