Summary

This bill amends federal law to explicitly include adaptive prostheses and terminal devices designed for sports and recreational activities as part of medical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs to eligible veterans. The bill clarifies that when the VA furnishes artificial limbs and prosthetics to veterans, these services now include sport-specific prosthetic devices and terminal devices that enable veterans to participate in athletic and recreational activities. The change is made to Title 38 of the United States Code, which governs veterans' medical benefits. This ensures that veterans have access to specialized prosthetics beyond those used for daily mobility, allowing them to engage in sports and recreational pursuits.
