To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to increase the standard charitable mileage rate for delivery of meals to elderly, disabled, frail, and at-risk individuals.
Summary
This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to increase the charitable mileage deduction rate for volunteers who deliver meals to homebound elderly, disabled, frail, or at-risk individuals. Instead of the current 14 cents per mile charitable rate, these specific meal delivery volunteers would use the standard business mileage rate, which is typically higher. The change would be effective for miles driven after the bill's enactment date.
