HR 1887 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Lobbying Disclosure Improvement Act
To amend the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 to require certain disclosures by registrants regarding exemptions under the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938, as amended.
Summary
This bill amends the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 to require registered lobbyists to disclose whether they hold an exemption under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) of 1938. The bill adds a new disclosure statement requirement in Section 4(b) of the Lobbying Disclosure Act, specifying that registrants must indicate their exemption status under FARA section 3(h). This change increases transparency by making clear which registered lobbyists may be exempt from FARA's foreign agent registration requirements.
