HR 141 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Trailer Safety Improvement Act
To amend title 23, United States Code, to include education on trailer safety in State highway safety programs.
Summary
This bill amends federal highway safety law to require State highway safety programs to include education on trailer safety. The amendment expands the scope of State programs to cover prevention of improper and unsafe use of light-duty and medium-duty trailers, and to educate the public about required trailer safety equipment and preventive maintenance. The bill essentially adds trailer safety education as a component of existing State highway safety grant programs.
