Automotive Support Services to Improve Safe Transportation Act of 2025

Introduced Feb 14, 2025

Latest action (May 20, 2025) Received in the Senate and Read twice and referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

Summary

This bill clarifies that the Department of Veterans Affairs' definition of "medical services" includes medically necessary automobile adaptations for veterans, such as ramps, wheelchair lifts, raised roofs, lowered floors, wheelchair tiedowns, adapted seating, and accessibility modifications. By explicitly listing these vehicle adaptations as covered medical services, the bill ensures that eligible veterans can receive VA support for modifications that enable them to drive or ride as passengers safely. The bill also extends the deadline for certain pension payment limits from November 30, 2031 to September 30, 2032.
