Race Horse Cost Recovery Act of 2025
To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow a 3-year recovery period for all race horses.
Summary
This bill amends the tax code to allow race horse owners to depreciate the cost of race horses over a three-year period for tax purposes. Currently, race horses fall into longer depreciation schedules under the Internal Revenue Code. The change applies to race horses placed in service after December 31, 2022, allowing owners to recover their investment costs more quickly.
