Restoring American Sovereignty Act

To provide for the use of funds for deportation purposes.

Introduced Feb 6, 2025

Latest action (Feb 6, 2025) Referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and in addition to the Committee on the Judiciary, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

Summary

This Act authorizes the President to use funds that were paused under Executive Order 14169 (issued January 20, 2025) for the purpose of deporting individuals who are in the United States unlawfully. The bill overrides any other provision of law that would prevent the use of these paused funds for deportation. The legislation does not appropriate new funds or establish new agencies; it redirects previously paused funding to deportation activities. The bill was referred to the Committees on Foreign Affairs and the Judiciary for consideration.
