Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.

Summary

This joint resolution disapproves of a Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection rule that would withdraw an earlier CFPB regulation on examinations for risks affecting active-duty servicemembers and their dependents. The original rule, published in 2021, established requirements for financial institutions to examine risks to active-duty military personnel and their covered family members. The CFPB submitted a rule in 2025 to withdraw this protection, and this resolution disapproves of that withdrawal. If passed, the resolution would prevent the CFPB's withdrawal rule from taking effect, keeping the original 2021 protections for active-duty servicemembers in place.
