Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.

Summary

The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection proposed to withdraw a rule regulating how credit reporting agencies can use name-only matching to identify consumer records. This joint resolution would disapprove that withdrawal, preventing the CFPB from removing the rule and keeping the name-only matching procedures in place. If passed, the withdrawal rule would have no legal effect. The resolution operates under the Congressional Review Act, which allows Congress to overturn federal regulations by majority vote in both chambers.
