HJRES 169 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.

Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection relating to the withdrawal of the rule relating to ``Consumer Financial Protection Circular 2024-05: Improper Overdraft Opt-In Practices''.
Summary
This joint resolution disapproves a rule by the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection that withdrew guidance restricting improper overdraft opt-in practices. The original guidance, issued as Consumer Financial Protection Circular 2024-05 in October 2024, addressed how banks handle overdraft opt-in practices. The CFPB withdrew this guidance in May 2025. If passed, this resolution would invalidate the CFPB's withdrawal and reinstate the guidance on overdraft opt-in practices.
