HCONRES 68 Passed House Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from Venezuela that have not been authorized by Congress.
To direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from Venezuela that have not been authorized by Congress.
Summary
This concurrent resolution directs the President to remove all United States Armed Forces from Venezuela unless Congress has explicitly authorized their presence through a declaration of war or a specific statutory authorization for military force. The measure invokes the War Powers Resolution, a 1973 law that governs the President's ability to deploy military forces abroad. The resolution would require the withdrawal of any armed forces currently operating in Venezuela that lack such explicit Congressional authorization.
